A Multiplication Game

Use the Salute Multiplication game to support multiplication fact fluency. All you need is a deck of cards! As students play, stop and conduct short interviews to learn more about their mathematical thinking.

Introducing the multiplication chart? This is a great way to get students interacting with it as a tool to support their learning.

We've also added this to the Thinking Strategies for Basic Math Facts Checklist. As with all the games we post here, please let us know how you're using it, differentiating it or extending it to meet the needs of all your learners.

Enjoy!

  1. I used this game with my 4th grade class and they loved the game! I thought they were very successful with it! Some of my students who weren't as comfortable with their multiplication facts used their multiplication chart to help them while playing. Other students who wanted a challenge used some of my digit cards instead of playing cards so that they could multiply some larger numbers.
